Not quite

Not quite "Terminal", but pretty slow... - Leptoglossus fulvicornis - Male
Megget, Charleston County, South Carolina, USA
September 25, 2005
This was an easy subject, pretty slow moving with only 1 leg on the right side. He even left me a present! What I'm wondering though, is why I so commonly see these guys with missing appendages. Of the few I've gotten good pictures of, it is the rule rather than the exception.

Not quite Not at all

Moved
Moved from Leptoglossus.

Moved
Moved from Acanthocephala terminalis.
It was wrong genus! Either L.fulvicornis, or L.oppositus.

Nice catch Boris!
Thanks for catching that Boris. Next time I'll read the Info pages a little more closely, rather than just looking at pictures...

I vote for L.fulvicornis, primarily on appearance, but also because of it being in SC. And very near magnolia trees.

I've added another image from the same day that might help.

It helped!
I think, we can be sure about this being fulvicornis: Humeral angles of pronotum more prominent, distinctly granulate on edge, hind tibial extension less broad and angulate . . .

different genus?
By colour of antennae, this could be A.femorata, but not A.terminalis. By the form of hind tibiae, this can´t be femorarta, on the other hand. The head is quite elongated (not much shorter as pronotum as in Acanthocephala spp.), and two spines on flange of hind tibia point towards Leptoglossus.
