Another Lady Beetle - Harmonia axyridis
Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, USA

I suspect this is Harmonia, but I need more experienced eyes to make a determination. Taken during relatively cool weather, sunny, but very windy, hence the lady beetle's position inside the acorn cap, under a leaf.

Nobody Frass this, please - the white scutellum on Jon's Georgia H. axyridis is pretty unusual and might be of interest to researchers as a regional variation.

yes, you're right, never mind me :-)
That's what I get for conserving money (and time) at a cybercafe and not looking at all 20+ pages of H. axyridis...I just hadn't noticed a white scutellum until this one and didn't see it on many others in the first few pages of images.

I'm going to seriously curate and cull Harmonia in Nov or Dec when there aren't any outdoor insects in Philly and ID Request slows down. In the meantime, I'm sticking good or interesting images in the Guide for further review.

looks like a Harmonia axyridis to me
Asian Multicolored Ladybird Beetle, I think the "W" on the thorax is diagnostic.

Yup, H. axyridis
The "W" is shared by some other species, notably the almost-as-variably-patterned two-spotted lady beetle, but the round shape (Adalia is more oval) and white in middle of "face" are diagnostic when added to the "W."
