bug on bur oak - Brochymena quadripustulata

bug on bur oak - Brochymena quadripustulata
Shaw Nature Reserve near Gray Summit, Franklin County, Missouri, USA
September 8, 2009
Size: 15 mm
This bug and a few others like it were quite sedentary on the trunk of a young Quercus macrocarpa, at the edge of the grassy patch where I took the picture of Ischnodemus falicus on Spartina recently posted here. They were there several nights in a row when I checked on them while out poking around for crickets and katydids.

Did I get the genus right?

Moved
Moved from Brochymena.

yes; B. 4-p.
