Identification is easier if you can get a shot of the pronotum, which is the middle part, the black and white area that's sort of its shoulders. The two mating may be the same species despite their color difference.

Great explanation, Whiz:-) These are all Harmonia axyridis. I know! You'd never guess it to look at them.
