Feathery trichobothria - Mangora

Feathery trichobothria - Mangora
Chicopee watershed (872 S15), Unknown County, Massachusetts, USA
July 21, 2008
Image of leg III taken through microscope showing the cluster of feathery trichobothria that helps identify this genus. Works great when the specimen is dead and lacks color pattern clues:-)

WOW - thanks Eric!
That's the first image of trichobothria I have seen. So far I only saw drawings. Or so I thought! Now I can also see them in the Mangora picture I posted:

You're welcome:-)
Thanks for posting your own image of a live spider!
