Unknown Fly - Palpada - Male

These are the two best images I have of this fly. Unfortunately it didn't hang around for very long. Could this possibly be Syrphid Fly, Palpada albifrons? Would appreciate ID or confirmation. If it is Palpada albifrons, it will be the first one on the map for Virginia!

Palpada for sure
I think it's Palpada albifrons, but am unfamiliar with eastern species, and there could be other candidates. Please move your post to Flies (Diptera) for expert attention. [That's the hot tip for any fly needing ID.]

Oh, and it's a boy.
