Chironomidae? - male

Chironomidae? - Male
Tilden Regional Park, Contra Costa County, California, USA
September 27, 2009
This tiny midge was on the bottom of a leaf above my head (hard angle/position for holding the camera still!)

Found in shady area near a creek.

(Thanks to Deanna Jackson of the Essig Museum for pointing me towards Chironomidae.)

Moved
Moved from Chironominae.

Moved from ID Request. Probably Chironomini.

Thanks John
I forgot to indicate it was a male (apparent from those amazing "Phyllis Diller" antennae).
