Possible Hebridae - Elasmucha lateralis

Possible Hebridae - Elasmucha lateralis
Maine, USA
June 3, 2005
Size: 7 millimeters
Found in a littoral sweep, so it's uncertain if it's an aquatic hemiptera or not. If it is aquatic, I'm fairly certain it's Hebridae. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Stink bug.
This is a stink bug, Pentatomidae, though some authorities place this genus (Elasmucha) in a different family, Acanthosomatidae. This is probably E. lateralis. They are known for the parental care exhibited by females in guarding their eggs and newly-hatched nymphs.
