Is it a bird, a plane, a locust or a grasshopper? - Schistocerca nitens - Female
Tularosa, Otero County, New Mexico, USA

Size: BIG
I have about 17 pictures of this baby so if you need a different shot let me know. My kids saw it on the window and I got out of the sick bed to get it. Thank goodness I live in the country and the nearest neighbor is nowhere to be seen! Now I am going back to bed. Thanks for the help with the id, I think this is the biggest hopper I have seen yet! I thought the plains lumber was a big one, wow!
