Elongate-bodied Springtail - Homidia sauteri

Elongate-bodied Springtail - Homidia sauteri
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
November 16, 2009
Size: 1-2mm
Franz,
I'm thinking in genus Entomobrya. I'm leaning towards E. nivalis but not confidently. Would you help me out, please. Thanks,
Robert

Franz,
As always, you have blanket permission to use any of my springtails on your site.

Moved from Elongate-bodied Springtails.

Thanks
for your kind permission. I'll be happy to use your pictures as illustrations at our website.

Homidia sauteri
You were close, Robert. Homidia resembles Entomobrya quite well in macroscopic aspect. In general the dorsal setae on the thoracic segments are much more dense in Homidia.
