Syrphidae - Eristalis Fly? - Ornidia obesa - Female
Lakeland, Polk County, Florida, USA
October 20, 2005
Size: 10 mm
This fly is highly metallic over all the body. The wing pattern seems to closely match those on page 281 of Peterson Field Guide to Insects. Any help in ID is appreciated. It is a beautiful fly!
