Identification

Head (especially sides & posterior to eyes) finely rugopunctulate in H. caliginosus, relatively smooth in H. katiae. Female terminal tergite with apex angulate in H. caliginosus) vs smoothly rounded in H. katiae
Range
across US and adjacent Canada, but H. katiae is restricted to se. & so. central US(2)
