A couple of cute-as-can-be hatchling crickets share a fish flake as their first meal. The red coloration that each cricket has is the red fish flakes that they are eating

Soooo cute....
...just out of curiosity, have you tried isolating brown flakes, green flakes and red flakes -- to see how their appearance changes?

 
Have not tried that...
But I do see different colored crickets! Most are red because they seem to like the red ones the best, but I do see some green and brown crickets too.
