Pachybrachys sp.
Looks exactly like the one
Pachybrachys circumcinctus specimen at the Essig Museum, but that only specimen is from Yosemite (several 100 miles away). Also resembles the 14
Pachybrachys bivittatus specimens, but those had very varied patterns on the elytra and none were exactly like mine (one was very close). Range would include my area.
There is a photo of
Pachybrachis circumcinctus in the
Audubon Guide (image 155) with a pattern almost the same as mine but not as perfect a match as the
P. circumcinctus at Essig. The Audubon Guide says the range is from California to Oregon but without further information I'm not sure... (Note difference in spelling -
Pachybrachis vs
Pachybrachys - which is correct? Essig uses
Pachybrachys. Cedar Creek uses
Pachybrachis. What does American Beetles use?)
