The female swooped in and out while the male only fluttered a bit.

Spicebush Swallowtail - Papilio troilus
Note on the underside of the hindwing that the median spot band lacks one orange spot.
Note also that there are two spot bands and that the Pipevine has only one spot band on the underside of the hindwing.
