Larvae ? - Microdon

Larvae ? - Microdon
Top of Left Fork of Oak Creek, Sanpete County, Utah, USA
July 3, 1992
I think these are larvae. I was looking under the bark of trees for insects and found these interesting larvae. I cannot remember if the tree was an evergreen or a deciduous tree.

Could be
a Microdon (Syrphid fly) pupa:

The last image could be a larva.

Correct!
Ken is right on with the ID, except I'd say that all are probably larvae rather than pupae. Hard to tell with these, though. They were originally classified as mollusks! LOL!
