Lake Placid, Highlands County, Florida, USA
April 10, 2009
Size: roughly 8-10mm each
I have no idea what these are, some kind of Heteroptera?

okay, got it -- with minor reservations
Tim, thanks for this fine contribution. You seem to be the only bugguider to ever photograph this bug. From your photos, i see that your technique is fine and beg you to take good clean dorsal view of the bug the best you can next time you come across the sucker: we need conclusive images that can dispel all doubts and be used as reference in the guide. I know you're able to do it. =v=

Moved from Orsillinae.

Arrrgh!
Thank you =v=. First of all, I apologize, I can't believe I had previously submitted the same species and did not remember it and the photographs were taken only days apart. I am combing through folders from the spring for shots I had not yet posted. Thanks again for the help and I will try real hard to remember this seed bug when I see it again in the future.

Tim

i'm looking forward to see what else you'll pull out of your sleeve

i'll leave them at the subfam level for the time being...
...and take a closer look; '8-10mm' sounds overestimated, though -- should be more like 5-7mm, i guess

Moved from ID Request.

Looks like...
...Hyaline Grass Bug (Liorhyssus hyalinus)

Or along that line somewhere :)

Thanks Ron, that looks pretty
Thanks Ron, that looks pretty close to me too. Maybe someone else can confirm identity.
