Large Brownish-black Stinkbug - Chlorochroa ligata

Large Brownish-black Stinkbug - Chlorochroa ligata
Sandy City, Hidden Valley Park, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA
October 23, 2005
Size: 1/2 inch long
This looks like a Say's Stinkbug, Pentatomidae Chlorochroa, except that it's a brownish-black color. Do they turn this color in fall? Or is this another species??

Moved
Moved from Chlorochroa.

Most likely it is Chlorochroa
Most likely it is Chlorochroa ligata (Say)

Chlorochroa sp.
This is almost certainly a species of Chlorochroa, as you suspected, but probably not C. sayi. There are several species, many of which are highly variable in coloration. Another great image:-)
