UnBug - Boisea rubrolineata

Size: About 13 cm
A large number of these things showed up on the north side of our house a few weks ago, they don't seem to move around much they just hang around. They will fly if you bother them but not far. We live close to woods and wetlands.

Western boxelder bug
This is a western boxelder bug in the family Rhopalidae. The good news is that they are called "scentless plant bugs" because they lack the stink glands of other true bugs. Bad news is that this one, like the Brochymena stink bug, thinks your house would be a wonderful place to hibernate for the winter:-) Lovely image, thank you for sharing. Keep it up, we have few images of anything from the Pacific Northwest.
