Tibicen tibicen (=chloromerus)
Populations from the eastern seaboard states, primarily mid-Atlantic, are often characterized by deep reds on the mesonotum (mesothorax); a trait rarely seen in more inland (west of the Appalachians) and northern populations.

I haven't nailed down the West Coast species much beyond Genus :0
+ the Genus Okanagana, best represented in the west, needs some work!!
