We think this Rove Beetle may be Homaeotarsus bicolor.

This is Homaeotarsus, but not bicolor. There are many reddish ones, with at least some undescribed species in the south.

I can see why earwigs used to be classified with the Coleoptera- the superficial similarities are striking.
