Size: body length 8.7 mm.
We think this Rove Beetle may be Homaeotarsus bicolor.
Placement would be appreciated.

This is Homaeotarsus, but not
This is Homaeotarsus, but not bicolor. There are many reddish ones, with at least some undescribed species in the south.

I can see why earwigs used to be classified with the Coleoptera- the superficial similarities are striking.

with the genus ID, but not enough for species. I will move to genus.
