Diplolepis rosae

Diplolepis rosae
Toronto, Cherry Beach Park, Ontario, Canada
October 8, 2009
Size: ~2-3 cm
I confess that I have identified the host from the characteristic elliptical hips. Rosa rugosa hips are round and even though they were rather common in the area I have not seen any of these galls on them.
