Reddish Spider - Pachygnatha brevis - female

Reddish Spider - Pachygnatha brevis - Female
Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
October 29, 2005
Size: 7mm
Found this under a piece of bark I tore off a dead tree. I only took one shot, because the piece of bark it was on was less than 2", and it was walking towards my fingers. One thing I'm not comfortable with is handling spiders.

Excellent
This is a thick jawed orb weaver, Pachygnatha. It needs a guide page.

Thanks for the ID Jeff. Wish I'd gotten better shots, but I chickened out when it got too close.
