Identification
Black with the following parts white: band on flagellum, scutellum, "anal marks" on terga 6 and 7, and hind trochanter in female (not male). The white band on antenna is closer to the base in the female than the male.(1)

Food
Has been reared from pupae of pest species including Trichoplusia ni, Ostrinia nubilalis, and Hyphantria cunea.
Remarks
One of the most common species of Ichneumoninae.
