Two spp. recognized, but P. schwarzi may actually be a subspecies.
Identification
Large, metallic green, blue, or bronze. Femora red.
Range
Central and southeastern United States: Delaware west to Missouri and southward.
Life Cycle
Larvae are trunk and root borers of Tupelo (Nyssa), Bumelia, and Mulberry (Morus). Adults are attracted to UV lights and bait.
