Chilocorus nigrita (Fabricius) - Chilocorus nigrita

Chilocorus nigrita (Fabricius) - Chilocorus nigrita
Miami, Dade County, Florida, USA
Size: 4mm
An Asian species recently discovered in southern Florida.

guys, i have a feeling the correct spelling is 'nigrita'
a tricky case; nigrita, used in the orig.comb., is a noun (not an adjective), and thus is not subject to gender change depending on combination --just like 'stigma' in the same genus --see(1) (Explanation of Names)

surprisingly, Wiki has it right, for a change

Correct
It is nigrita.

thanks --corrected on info pages

not a Latin scholar here...
...I'll bow to your rationale here.

Great find!
You have amazing coccinellids in Florida, all these photos are top-quality. I have total Florida envy right now, it's been a solid week of freezing rain in Philadelphia!

Thanks
It's been in the 80s here the last couple days; hoping for some cooler weather, but a white Christmas is probably out of the question.

Thanks...
for the neat addition and another great image!
