Spotted Beet Webworm - Hymenia perspectalis

Spotted Beet Webworm - Hymenia perspectalis
Parkwood, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
September 23, 2005
Size: 18 mm wingspan
At my porch light. Wingspan measured in place. A rather worn specimen, but scale loss seems to be preferentially in certain areas. Perhaps this is the origin of the genus name, from the membrane-like areas on the wings?

Date?
Do you have a date on this one and just forgot to post it?

I forgot
Oops, I just forgot. Date entered now. Thanks for the note.
