Baton Rouge, Staring Lane near Highland Road, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA
August 26, 2009
Size: 5.5 mm.
Several of these were found under the bark of a fallen pine tree. They were uniform in size and color. We think this may be in the genus Ips. A second group was also present that were uniformly smaller and lighter in color. A specimen of this second group is posted here.
