Egg case on goldenrod leaf.
Franklin County, Massachusetts, USA

Size: roughly 1 cm in diamter
A friend brought me this unusual egg case in the fall. I photographed it and returned it to her; I think she plans to see what hatches out, but I don't expect that to happen before the spring. Any thoughts? The bumpy projections looked more prominent and uniform in real life.

Yes, that strikes me as very similar. The projections on yours look more complex, but it's the same general idea.
