what a cool insect!
While living in FL one of the things that I hated were all the "bugs" and the size some of them reach. Now, many years later, being a citizen scientist and amateur entomologist (lol!) I am so fascinated with the diversity! I live in NH so it is more limiting, but we do have things like snow fleas!

Snow fleas ?
Where in nh ? I grew up in the Portsmouth area . I never heard of a snow flea . Any pics ?

thanks for the kind words. I too love the diversity of the bugs around here. some do get very big, I had a Cicada knock my hat off the other day. I was shocked.
