Isotoma delta? Springtail - Isotoma

Isotoma delta? Springtail - Isotoma
Durham, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
December 30, 2009
Size: largest, about 3mm
With temperatures in the thirties, these springtails were seen floating on the surface of an artificial pond (model Sailboat Pond) at the Museum of life + Science. The insects were quite active, some of them "springing" about on the water. Could they be I. delta, and could they have been blown into the pond on leaves?
