another great Arizona oak gall - Disholcaspis pedunculoides

This was one of my favorite Arizona oak galls. Not sure if these are acorn or bud galls... or just some sort of stem gall? They look like very strange acorns... or jester hats.

Just got Weld (1) through interlibrary loan. It's a slim volume, and I found these quickly by flipping through the photos. They're acorn galls.
