Size: 3/4 inch long
I found this caterpillar on a cabbage in our garden. I was wondering what kind of butterfly or moth it will turn in to.

Looks like
a Silver-spotted Skipper. Compare with this one from the guide.

It's definitely a skipper.
Looks a lot like Silver-spotted Skipper, which eats the leaves of beans and peas - do you have any of those nearby?

We have beans in the garden,
We have beans in the garden, but they have been dried up for some time. I think you are right though. I have seen lots of these butterflies on wild flowers around our pond, which is close by. I'd still like to know if those are eyes or if they are just spots.

Caterpillars have six little eyes each side of their face. These eye patches above them might serve to startle predators, though.
