Endangered species.
This is one of the few insects on the endangered species list (or at least the California state list). They are found only around certain ephemeral pools in parts of California.

the only known spot is jepson
the only known spot is jepson prairie, I have been there and it is strictly forbidden to go one there in less your a dosent
