Size: ~3/16 in., 5 mm
Found among fresh rose prunings in container; may have been on rose. Fled from exposure; froze occasionally. A fast runner but poor at climbing container walls.

Eyes are too far forward
more like an Anyphaenid, but we'll wait for Lynette and Mandy

 
Yep, I vote for anyphaenidae, too
Might even be Anyphaena californica, but a mature palp would have to be examined to be sure.

could this be
Lycosidae Arctosa???? Maybe a young one? Just a guess.
