is still recognized in certain recent authoritative works, namely that of Wolfang Lorenz (2005) referenced under this species Info page. That is important to mention because the current series Treatise on the Western Hemisphere Caraboidea in progress by T. Erwin (ed.) so far has adhered closely to the nomenclature presented in the worldwide catalogue by Lorenz. It is also important to mention this because it appears that BugGuide policy now is to follow the current nomenclature - see for example the recent posted discussion about the decision to change to "new" tiger beetle genera after Erwin in turn after Lorenz.
