Lesser Peach Tree Borer? - Synanthedon viburni - Male Female
New Lisbon Railroad Prairie, Juneau County, Wisconsin, USA
July 22, 1988
We found these mating, resting on a willow at the railroad prairie. We're thinking maybe S.pictipes but would welcome confirmation or correction.

Moved
Moved from Willow Borer.

The B & W antennae
and the body color make me think these are Synanthedon proxima a species that bores in willows.

No wonder they were on a will
No wonder they were on a willow!
