slightly metalic - the dorsum of this reminded me of some Tenebs, for some reason. I assume flea beetles is where to start, but can it be taken any further?

try the D&A key -- might well work...
Moved from Flea Beetles.

Thanks v
after looking at the D&A key (which opens with "the genus needs work"), I'm not feeling confident about a determination. But I'll try to re-image the head (head-on), as that seems to be the necessary part.

C. minuta
After another try (on a fresh day), I'm reasonably confident that this is C. minuta Melsheimer. Head punctate (small, indistinctly), elytral punctures distinct to apex, pronotum with distinct row of basal punctures, legs dark red/brown, first 4/5 antenna seg yellow/brown. Seems to match the MCZ type (better than C. pinguis LeC.).
