scorpion fly - Panorpa - male

scorpion fly - Panorpa - Male
Roswell, Fulton County, Georgia, USA
October 16, 2005
Found on inside wall of garage.

This is possibly Panorpa ocon
This is possibly Panorpa oconee or choctaw based on the wing markings, color of the wing membrane, season, and locality. Less likely based on wing markings, this might also be a member of the confusa group.

probably Panorpa
I relocated this critter to its rightful place with the other scorpionflies (order Mecoptera, family Panorpidae)
