Possibly Toxomerus geminatus?? - Toxomerus geminatus
Woodbury, Cannon County, Tennessee, USA

I really don't know what this one is. I am just trying to figure these out. How many different species would I have in TN?

Moved
Moved from Syrphid Flies.

Good going! You do know what it is. ID is spot on.
Except in Florida - and adjacent areas in neighboring states - any place in the U.S. has three species. These are T. marginatus, most common; T. politus, the long body; then T. geminatus in the east, or the incredibly similar T. occidentalis in the west. (I think the Rocky Mountains are the dividing line.)

Thank you
So I need to find marginatus to have all three in this genus.

Yes, and that should be the easy one.
Good hunting; collect 'em all!
