Variegated Meadowhawk - Sympetrum corruptum

Variegated Meadowhawk - Sympetrum corruptum
Encino, Los Angeles County, California, USA
November 5, 2005
Size: 2 inches (body length)
Was delighted to find this specimen still hanging around for a second day, but it was still hard to get close. I came back later and it seemed to be asleep- I was able to do just about everything but a protoscopic exam and it didn't move (hope it's not dead!).

On same Salvia clevelandii plant as yesterday
