Nice shot. I believe this is Ochlerotatus japonicus, but let's see if Sean McCann is still around to comment. I'm confident of the genus at least.

Okay, I wil have to think about this some more. It seems that it could be a japonicus with a very worn scutum, or perhaps something else.

nope, it can't be japonicus, the big rings on the fore tarsomeres are way too big....Now what is it? canadensis?

Did you do a lot of post-processing on this? Might you have the original file or any other shots?

Oh great! A West Nile vector. This summer I'll see if I can get some more photographs of mosquitoes from around here. It's not like we have a lack of them.
