Bordered Patch - Chlosyne lacinia

Bordered Patch - Chlosyne lacinia
Weslaco, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA
October 23, 2004
Typical dark form Bordered Patch caterpillar.

Tom, can you check out
and and see what you think?

Probably the same
or at least the same genus. The way I got mine identified was at a NABA meeting field trip led by Kim Garwood and Richard Lehman. They're both very active in Texas/Mexico, and knowledgeable about their local butterflies.
