Erynnis Puddling - Erynnis funeralis - male

Erynnis Puddling - Erynnis funeralis - Male
Webb Canyon, ~2000 ft. elevation, Los Angeles County, California, USA
June 30, 2009
This duskywing landed in a small wet area next to the pool and seemed quite content to sit there for several minutes. I guess if I had to choose, I'd go with E. funeralis for the ID on this one... Again, because of the overall dark coloration and the faint white spots with the adjacent light brown patch on the FW. Would love to get others' opinions here!

Habitat is both chaparral and mixed oak woodland.

You might want to ask Tom Murray to comment on these.
If I recall correctly, he had a good eye for these. So did Tony Thomas.
