Moth - Utetheisa ornatrix

Moth - Utetheisa ornatrix
St. Lucie County, Florida, USA
November 11, 2005

Not sure why this is in frass
Seems like a very nice image. Do you just like your new images better?

Yes
and they were taken at the same place (St. Lucie County property).
The only difference being the time of year, and if that is grounds to keep it, then feel free to move back.

I'm moving back.
The time of year does matter. I always check the map before posting. If NC is already filled for that month, I usually don't post my shots. If it's not filled I post.

OK
I will keep that in mind.

Bella Moth
Bella Moth, Utetheisa bella, sample image:

There is another closely related species, U. ornatrix, sometimes U. bella is lumped into this--see the guide page linked above.

Thanks Patrick
I sure could have used your photography skills earlier when the lynx I posted was making an egg sac!
