My brother found this crawling on the road, and called me to take a picture of it. What species is it?

Rest in peace
I went back outside later and the spider was sitting in the same place, but it was dead. Laying next to it, also dead, was a yellow jacket. There weren't any other insects around. It seems they killed each other!
