Elm Saw Fly Larva - Cimbex americanus

Size: Over an inch
This incredible 'maggot' of a large Elm Sawfly had my son and I enthralled for awhile. It was crawling thru the leaves in a forested area of NE Kansas but curled up once I touched it.
