A specimen for DGPRC from my collection. Can anyone ID to genus or species? Thanks!

Moved
Moved from Bee Flies.

Hemipenthes?
OK, I get into trouble with flies, but this looks like Hemipenthes to me.

Thanks
I think I'll just let in ID request or move it to the bee flies section of the guide until we get a second opinion. We need a bee flies expert on BugGuide. I don't know much about them but I think they are very interesting. Thanks for your help!

Anthrax analis?
Reversing myself, as is commonplace, this does rather look like Anthrax analis shown at Insects of Cedar Creek.

Thanks!
It does look similar. I'm slowly uploading improved photos, so I should get to this one soon. Thanks for the help, but I think we should have an expert confirm the ID first.
