You can see that the ventral portion of the proboscis has a white scale patch.

Thanks! My new plan of action is to go into the field with a camera and some vials. That way I can capture the mosquito for keying out after it is photographed. Hopefully then I can point out any ID features that might be evident in the photograph, and take further pictures under the scope.
