I've had this picture for a while. It's time to do better with the ID.

wow
And I thought I had some old bug pics on film. You really have me beat. Looks like your film has held up well, and nice job scanning.

old film
Thanks Andrew

This is an old Fujichrome. Actually the scan looks better than the slide. The background blacks in the slide have a red tinge and the contrast is a bit flatter. I have some older insect shots - going back to about 1971 or 72. I made my first multi-flash "bug-shooter" back around then. My best quality old film shots are all on Kodachrome 25 but I always like the greens in Fujichrome.

Reminds me more
of a Pentatomid (Stink Bug)--maybe something along the lines of Picromerus bidens:

Then again, it might just be the angle, or these aging eyes. :)

Looks good to me
If your picture is correctly identified as a Pentatomid (Stink Bug) I suspect mine is the same. It looks the same as far as what can be seen in a picture. We'll see if any experts have anything more to say on the subject. Thanks.

gravid Picromeress, sure
